Job Title: AI Applications Engineering Specialist

Description:

We are seeking an experienced AI Applications Engineering Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for configuring and managing data privacy controls to prevent the training of AI models on sensitive data and enforcing zero-retention policies.

Key responsibilities include delivering comprehensive audit logs, compliance reporting, and monitoring for OpenAI usage to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

Additionally, you will implement robust guardrails and moderation tools, including fine-tuned safety layers, to enhance the security and reliability of AI applications.

Responsibilities also include tracking and analyzing model performance and usage metrics, producing regular reports for leadership to inform strategic decisions.

Furthermore, you will optimize prompt engineering and evaluate cost/performance trade-offs, such as comparing GPT-4 and GPT-4o mini, to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

As an expert in AI tool management, you will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to API calls, latency, and integration failures, ensuring seamless operation of AI tools.

Maintenance of a detailed internal admin guide with setup/configuration steps, governance rules, and best practices for AI tool management is also a key responsibility.

Development and maintenance of knowledge bases and wikis for developers and end users to facilitate knowledge sharing and skill development are additional duties.

You will deliver training sessions for IT staff to expand their expertise in managing OpenAI tools and ensure comprehensive admin coverage.

Lastly, you will serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for OpenAI-related incidents, providing expert-level support and resolution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in AI applications engineering or a related role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AI tools, particularly Google Gemini, OpenAI, and Anthropic.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy controls and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in configuring and managing AI tool environments securely and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to handle complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience delivering training and creating documentation.
