Chief Synthesis Chemist

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Research Scientist to join our team in developing novel therapeutics, diagnostics, and devices for diseases with a high socio-economic impact.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented scientist to design and execute synthetic routes to prepare small molecules, track SAR, optimize potency, selectivity, and properties, perform purification and structural characterization, troubleshoot synthetic problems, provide mentorship and guidance to junior colleagues, and collaborate with analytical teams.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or a closely related field and excellent technical and soft skills. They will be skilled in multistep organic synthesis, proficient in chromatography and spectroscopic analysis, have a high level of creativity and productivity, and possess strong synthetic chemistry problem-solving skills.

• M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a closely related field
• PhD in organic chemistry / medicinal chemistry
• Postdoc in organic chemistry / Medicinal chemistry (Optional)

Responsibilities include but not limited to designing and executing synthetic routes, optimizing potency, selectivity, and properties, performing purification and structural characterization, troubleshooting synthetic problems, providing mentorship and guidance to junior colleagues, and collaborating with analytical teams.

Technical and Soft Skills required are skilled in multistep organic synthesis, proficient in chromatography and spectroscopic analysis, high level of creativity and productivity with strong synthetic chemistry problem solving skills, demonstrated excellence in organic synthesis, effective oral and scientific/technical writing communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, commitment to lab safety, and familiarity with reaction databases.
