Job Title: Senior Applied Scientist

Job Summary:

At Microsoft, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Applied Scientist to join our Data & Applied Sciences team for Microsoft Teams. As a key member of our team, you will leverage advanced analytics, data science, and machine learning techniques to drive decision-making, enhance product performance, and maximize business impact.

Responsibilities:


  • Design and implement cutting-edge research and technology platforms for human communication understanding.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy AI-powered experiences.
  • Build and maintain large-scale datasets, develop and deploy machine learning models, and conduct rigorous A/B experiments.
  • Stay current on technology trends and scientific developments in relevant areas.
  • Collaborate with Development teams, Microsoft Research, and Product Teams to drive innovation and growth.


Requirements:


  • 4+ years of experience in Data Science / Machine Learning, with a strong background in Recommendation Systems.
  • Expertise in Exploratory Data Analysis, Inference Analysis, and Predictive Analysis (Regression, Classification, etc.).
  • Strong programming skills, with experience in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Publications in major HCI/ML/IR/NLP conferences.
  • Awareness and understanding of emerging research and technologies related to Recommendation Systems.
  • Experience in large-scale data mining and cloud computing.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Effective verbal, visual, and written communication skills.
