Job Title: Senior Database Professional

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and experience in managing and supporting MS SQL Database including Failover Cluster, Always ON Setup, Transaction replication, Link Servers, Hardening, and patching in day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities include monitoring generated log and event files indicating errors that will result in an incident, DR database availability monitoring, report status of log replications as per agreed schedules, session/query/log/latch monitoring, purging database logs and trace files, periodic config review to maintain consistent configurations, reviewing and recommending maintenance strategies, and monthly reporting on database availability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor generated log and event files indicating errors that will result in an incident
  • DR Database Availability Monitoring
  • Report Status of Log Replications as per agreed schedules
  • Session/Query/Log/Latch monitoring
  • Purging database Logs and trace files
  • Periodic config review to maintain consistent configurations
  • Review and recommendation to maintain availability
  • Monthly report on database availability

This role requires the ability to troubleshoot DB performance issues, manage all service requests through change management process, automate administration tasks where possible, manage and update all database environment documentation, ensure DB server availability for business application, and handle end-to-end major incidents and communicate with customers on production issues.
