Senior Financial Control Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Senior Financial Control Specialist. This role will be responsible for ensuring the robustness of our Global Middle Office Control Framework, encompassing Product Control, Valuations, Collateral Management, and Operations.

This position requires close collaboration with senior stakeholders across various regions and functions within the organization.

  • Provide independent review and challenge of Global Middle Office GMO function.
  • Review and challenge the GMO KRI s prepared by teams within GMO, providing critical feedback and recommendations via weekly KRI Challenge meetings.
  • Presents the weekly Global Middle Office Operating Committee meeting to senior stakeholders.
  • Identifies potential risks and control gaps within GMO processes and proposes solutions.
  • Leads process improvement and standardization initiatives within Control & Oversight and GMO functions.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with senior stakeholders across regions and functions within GMO.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of new control frameworks and methodologies.
  • Provides Key Control Observations based on operational breaches, KRI / KPIs, and control gaps to Finance Division Management.
  • Performs Risk Assessment & Review of End User Computing Applications.
  • E nsures adherence to the firm s Global Policies & Procedures within Finance division.
  • Performs RCSA Controls Testing to ensure design and operational effectiveness of controls.
  • Monitors Finance audit issues and actions.
  • Partners with various Finance teams, Operational Risk Management & Internal Audit to strengthen/ provide assurance on the operational effectiveness of controls.
  • Actively Participates & provides support to various Digital transformation initiatives.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Investment banking products and trading activities.
  • In-depth knowledge of middle office functions including product control, valuations, and collateral management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk management and reporting process.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to identify control gaps.
  • Confident individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to be direct and concise.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and ability to challenge senior management effectively.
  • Strong understanding of reconciliation process and break analysis.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptable to change.
  • Ability to drive innovations.
