Overview

Dew Software is a leading provider of innovative mechanical systems and components. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Expert to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Expert to lead and oversee the design and development of high-volume products, including +500k pa units. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing electromechanical products and be proficient in CAD packages such as SolidWorks and EPDM.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop innovative mechanical systems and components for high-volume production
  • Create and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation
  • Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and analysis to ensure proper design fit, functionality, and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, industrial designers, and manufacturing professionals
  • Manage and coordinate project timelines, resources, and deliverables
  • Conduct testing, validation, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and components
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in mechanical engineering
  • Ensure compliance with design standards, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in designing electromechanical products
  • Good exposure on UL/IEC and related standards
  • Good Exposure on plastics, Sheetmetal, casting part design and manufacturing process
  • Expert in tolerance stack up analysis
  • Good understanding on cable assemblies
  • Good experience in ECAD/MCAD integrations
  • Good exposure on structural and thermal design considerations
  • Good Exposure on DFX for high volume production
  • Good exposure on prototype techniques for Design development and verification
  • Expertise in SolidWorks and EPDM. Knowledge on any other CAD packages will be an added advantage.

  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in machine learning, such as Python and libraries like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Data Management: Experience in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data pipeline development for machine learning.
  • Collaborative Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including AI engineers and SREs.
  • Documentation: Effective documentation skills to maintain clear and organized records of models, infrastructure configurations, and incident responses.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is between $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
