Job Title: Data Architect

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the development of our big data strategy.

About the Role

This is a highly visible and rewarding role for a seasoned professional with expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage deep technical expertise to drive innovation and strategic decision-making across the organization
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and deploy cutting-edge big data solutions
  • Maintain high-level knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in the field of big data and analytics

Skill Requirements:

  • AWS: Hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing AWS-based big data platforms
  • Python: Proficiency in writing scalable, efficient Python code to process large datasets
  • Pyspark: Expertise in leveraging PySpark to build complex ETL pipelines and data processing workflows
  • Git: Strong understanding of Git version control best practices and ability to collaborate effectively using Git

Additional Skills:

  • Amazon EMR, Amazon Athena, AWS Glue: Experience working with Amazon's Analytics services to process large datasets
  • Amazon Lambda, Amazon EC2, S3: Familiarity with Amazon's Compute and Storage services to optimize data processing workflows
  • Compression techniques (e.g. Snappy, Gzip): Knowledge of data compression algorithms to improve data processing efficiency
  • Columnar storage formats (e.g. Parquet, Avro, ORC): Understanding of columnar storage formats to optimize data processing and querying
