Job Title: Data Quality Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to own the completeness, accuracy, and freshness of our alumni database.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Create and maintain a data model that defines field standards (names, degrees, departments, graduation year, employment, city/state/country/PIN) and validation rules.
  2. Develop and run monthly audits, publish data quality dashboards, and maintain a data dictionary, quality rules, and SOPs.
  3. Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and internal policies related to data consent and opt-out.

Responsibilities Continued:

  1. Design automated deduplication processes using exact and fuzzy matching techniques, survivorship rules, and merge queues.
  2. Implement standardization for addresses (India Post PINs), phone formats (E.164), and email patterns; set up input validation on forms.
  3. Reduce email bounces via verification and re-permissioning workflows, manage hard/soft bounce handling.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Plan outreach to alumni to fill gaps with progressive profiling.
  2. Enrich employment and location data via approved sources/APIs and manual research when needed.
  3. Run quarterly verification campaigns and monitor data freshness SLAs.

Requirements:

  1. A minimum of 4-8 years of experience in data quality, CRM operations, or data stewardship, preferably in nonprofit or higher education settings.
  2. Hands-on experience with SQL, advanced Excel/Google Sheets, and basic Python (pandas) or Apps Script for data cleanup jobs.
  3. Practical skills in dedupe/fuzzy matching, data profiling, address and contact standardization.
