Snowflake Data Engineer Position

We are seeking a seasoned Snowflake data engineer to join our team. This role requires strong expertise in data engineering, SQL optimization, and data modeling.

  • This position involves translating business requirements into robust technical solutions within Snowflake.
  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Snowflake and a deep understanding of data pipelines, transformations, and cloud-based data warehousing solutions.
  • Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining data pipelines and ETL workflows using Snowflake and related tools.
  • Additionally, the successful candidate will write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • The role also involves working on data transformation, cleansing, and validation to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Moreover, the data engineer will contribute to data modeling, architecture, and design discussions, ensuring alignment with best practices.
  • Responsibilities also include integrating Snowflake with various data sources, APIs, and BI tools.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams (business analysts, data engineers, and architects) is essential for delivering end-to-end solutions.
  • Implementation of security best practices, access controls, and governance within Snowflake is also required.
  • Monitoring and optimizing cost, performance, and scalability of Snowflake environments are key aspects of this role.
  • Finally, providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers is an important responsibility.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 6 years of experience as a Data Engineer/Snowflake Developer.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake Cloud Data Platform.
  • Proficiency in SQL (advanced queries, optimization, and performance tuning).
  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline development.
  • Knowledge of data modeling techniques (star schema, snowflake schema, normalization, denormalization).
  • Experience integrating Snowflake with BI/Analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) and data services.
  • Prior pharma domain knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in client-facing environments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Snowflake Certification (SnowPro Core or Advanced).
  • Experience with Python/Scala/Spark for data processing.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.
  • Exposure to data governance and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR).
