Our team is seeking a highly skilled HPC Specialist to join our infrastructure services team.

  • This specialist will be responsible for the operational health deployment and lifecycle of HPC technology, ensuring it runs at optimal levels and meets our business needs.
  • The role involves designing innovative solutions using projects and qualification frameworks to optimize our complex infrastructures and improve their performance.
  • The ideal candidate will act as a technical and organizational escalation point during major and critical incidents, providing expert support to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Responsibilities also include tracking suppliers and partners for effective project delivery, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Contribution to service and platform strategy development is also expected, leveraging expertise to drive business growth and innovation.

Key qualifications:

  • An associate's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience and 6+ years of IT experience, with at least 3 years in an HPC/scientific computing environment. Experience working in high-speed/low-latency networks, such as InfiniBand.
  • Experience designing and building infrastructure within public cloud platforms, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, specifically for HPC workloads. Strong knowledge of Unix systems performance tuning, DevOps tools and practices, including Ansible, Chef, and CICD.
  • Hands-on experience with system administration tasks in Linux environments, including scripting (bash required, Python knowledge advantageous).
  • Familiarity with building software from source code, knowledge of build systems (e.g., Make, CMake), and extensive experience with HPC scheduling mechanisms, shared memory/GPU/distributed memory computation jobs, and cluster management software packages.
  • A solid understanding of computer architectures and multi-threaded/parallel processing applications, along with hands-on knowledge of network and distributed filesystems (e.g., NFS, GPFS, Gluster, BeeGFS, Lustre).

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience setting up, maintaining, and tuning infrastructure for AI/ML workloads.
  • Experience with HPC infrastructure supporting scientific/research/pharmaceutical/bioinformatics/cheminformatics environments.
