The role of a Global Compliance Lead encompasses strategic leadership, combining global compliance with local project delivery. A strong understanding of anti-corruption regulations and ESG governance within the maritime sector is essential.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting MACN members in navigating anti-corruption regulations such as FCPA and UK Bribery Act requires meticulous attention to detail and up-to-date knowledge of regulatory trends.
- Developing and maintaining compliance tools and resources for industry needs demands creativity, analytical skills, and effective communication.
- Leading training programs on anti-corruption and sanctions compliance involves designing engaging content, facilitating workshops, and providing online modules.
- Liaising with external providers and supporting due diligence initiatives necessitates strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities.
- Championing ESG by supporting companies in disclosing anti-corruption efforts within ESG and sustainability reporting calls for strategic thinking, innovation, and collaboration.
- Oversight of stakeholder engagement with German SMEs, trade associations, training partners, and compliance specialists involves effective relationship-building, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Coordination of customized training material development, such as case studies and checklists, demands organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Management of workshop implementation, webinar coordination, and digital learning platform targeting SMEs necessitates adaptability, resilience, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Operationalizing Associate Membership model for Germany, including onboarding and ongoing SME engagement, calls for process improvement, customer-centric approach, and continuous learning.
- Contribution to internal learning, external communications, and donor reporting requires effective storytelling, data analysis, and presentation skills.
- A Bachelor's degree in Law, International Trade, Public Policy, Business, or related field (Master's preferred) provides a solid foundation for this role.
- At least 3 years of experience in project management, compliance, ESG, or integrity risk demonstrates relevant expertise and transferable skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of sanctions or anti-corruption frameworks is crucial for success in this position.
- Proven success engaging with governments, international donors, NGOs, and business leaders showcases ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, and navigate complex environments.
- Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) is essential for effective communication and collaboration.
- High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with e-learning tools is a plus.
