Learning Management System (LMS) Specialist

The LMS Specialist builds and maintains courses on the Canvas Learning Management System, ensuring high-quality learning experiences. This role involves course content creation, word document formatting, stakeholder collaboration, and maintaining accessibility and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain courses in the Canvas Learning Management System, aligning them with instructional design specifications.
  • Format and organize content pages, HTML pages, quizzes, assignments, and documents according to design document guidelines and accessibility standards.
  • Manage course assets, ensuring they meet quality standards.
  • Build and edit content on the Content Management System (CMS).
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews to ensure learning materials meet quality and accessibility standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve LMS-related issues during course setup and delivery, collaborating with relevant teams for solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure project requirements and specifications are met.
  • Deliver projects on time and ensure they meet the high-quality benchmarks of the organization.
  • Participate in internal continuous improvement efforts by offering ideas and solutions for process improvement.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field.
  • 1-4 years of working knowledge of HTML.
  • Experience working on the Canvas LMS and/or CMS is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of CSS, JS, and accessibility standards for course design.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and authoring tools such as Articulate 360 and H5P.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
