Database Migration Leadership Role

Our organization seeks an experienced Oracle DB Migration Lead to lead the end-to-end migration lifecycle, including assessment, planning, execution, validation, and post-migration optimization.

  • Lead the migration process with strong leadership and project management skills to ensure successful migrations, minimal downtime, and seamless delivery.
  • Define and drive migration strategy, methodologies, and best practices, including zero/near-zero downtime and HA/DR.
  • Plan, design, and execute Oracle database migrations across various platforms, including Data Center-to-Data Center, AWS-to-AWS, Azure-to-Azure, Oracle Exadata, and Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) environments.
  • Perform end-to-end database backup and recovery using Rubrik and RMAN, and implement delta data synchronization strategies for near-zero downtime migration.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects, infrastructure teams, and application owners to ensure smooth migration with minimal business disruption.
  • Document migration runbooks, rollback procedures, and knowledge transfer.
Requirements
  • 12+ years of Oracle Database experience, with 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles overseeing database migration programs.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale Oracle migrations in multi-cloud, Exadata, and ExaCC environments.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning, as well as Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) implementation and management.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native database solutions in AWS (RDS, EC2, S3) and Azure (Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Recovery Vaults).
  • Experience in data purging, retention policies, and compliance for regulated environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and problem-resolution skills, particularly in Exadata/ExaCC environments.
