Senior Observability Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Observability Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing and implementing observability systems to monitor and improve the performance of our applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in observability practices, including SRE, SLI/SLO, Synthetic, APM, RUM, and experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab, GitLab Runner, Jenkins, etc. You should also have knowledge of modern monitoring systems such as Elasticsearch, Kibana, Grafana, and Dynatrace.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement observability systems to monitor application performance
  • Develop and maintain scripts for data collection and analysis
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve performance issues
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in observability and monitoring
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in software development and observability engineering
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Shell, PowerShell, etc.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Nomad, OpenShift
  • Good understanding of IT production backup and resilience setup, high availability setup, disaster recovery plan, etc.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Mastery of distributed systems and microservices architecture
  • Experience with cloud platforms like IBM Cloud
  • Knowledge of RedHat Linux administration and performance management
  • Basic understanding of Ansible and Ansible Tower
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like Jira, Confluence, etc.
