Frontend Engineer Job Description

The Frontend Developer plays a pivotal role in shaping the user experience by crafting visually appealing and highly responsive web interfaces using modern front-end development techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality, interactive user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Implement component-based development to create reusable UI components and pages using React.js.
  • Understand core JavaScript fundamentals, including ES6+ features, DOM manipulation, and asynchronous programming.
  • Work with designers to implement pixel-perfect designs and ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsiveness using various CSS methodologies.
  • Integrate with backend APIs, demonstrating good knowledge of server-side languages and how frontend applications interact with them via APIs.
  • Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring an excellent user experience.
  • Write unit and integration tests for frontend components and effectively debug issues across the application stack.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers, backend engineers, product managers, and QA to translate designs and requirements into functional web applications.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed as a Frontend Developer, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4-6 years of professional experience in frontend web development.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Proven experience with React.js and its ecosystem.
  • Demonstrable strong proficiency in Vanilla JavaScript, with a deep understanding of core language features and browser APIs.
  • Good knowledge of a server-side language like PHP, including how frontend applications interact with PHP-driven backends via APIs.
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.

  • Other JavaScript frameworks/libraries (e.g., Next.js, Vue.js, Angular).
  • Familiarity with build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite, Gulp).
  • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress).
