Job Title: Portfolio Accountant

Fund Accounting and Investment Operations Expertise:

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of fund accounting principles, with a strong focus on Private Equity and Alternative Assets. They will be responsible for performing daily and monthly NAV/GAV calculations with high precision, as well as manual PnL and NAV calculations to ensure accuracy and reconciliation with software outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and value complex instruments such as private equity, bonds, forwards, swaps, and other derivatives.
  • Conduct daily cash and position reconciliations with brokers and custodians.
  • Prepare and review accounting entries in software.
  • Manage end-to-end fund accounting and investment operations for assigned clients.
  • Handle multi-currency portfolio accounting, income and expense accruals, and dividend processing.
  • Prepare financial statements according to US GAAP/IFRS standards.
  • Coordinate with auditors and support year-end audit and financial closure.
  • Prepare drawdown, distribution, equalization, and waterfall calculations based on fund documents.
  • Produce accurate and timely investor capital statements and IRR calculations.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with Geneva software (Advent Geneva preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of fund accounting principles, with a focus on private equity and alternative assets.
  • Hands-on experience with derivative instruments such as bonds, swaps, forwards.
  • Solid understanding of GAV/NAV methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and manual calculation skills.
  • Familiarity with global accounting/reporting standards (US GAAP, IFRS).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
