Electrical Procurement Specialist

About the Job:

We are seeking an Electrical Procurement Specialist with expertise in managing electrical and electronic commodities within the automotive domain. The role involves strategic sourcing, vendor development, localisation, and cost optimisation of electrical & electronic parts used in vehicles.

The ideal candidate will work closely with suppliers, engineering, and quality teams to ensure reliable sourcing at competitive costs.

About the Role:

The Electrical Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing procurement of automotive electrical & electronic commodities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage procurement of automotive electrical & electronic commodities such as wiring harnesses, sensors & switches, relays, fuses, connectors, control units/ECUs, lighting systems, instrument clusters & other electronic sub-systems.
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives ensuring best cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Drive localisation projects to reduce dependency on imports and improve supply chain resilience.
  • Conduct vendor identification, evaluation, and development for new and existing suppliers.
  • Carry out cost analysis, supplier negotiations, and benchmarking to achieve cost reduction targets.
  • Collaborate with R&D, design, and quality teams for supplier alignment with technical requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance for QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) parameters and initiate improvements.
  • Track market trends, raw material cost fluctuations, and new technologies in automotive electronics.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF/ISO standards, OEM requirements, and ethical sourcing guidelines.

Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of automotive electrical & electronic commodity procurement.

Required Skills:

  • Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor development, localisation, and cost management.
  • Strong negotiation, cost analysis, and supplier management skills.
  • Exposure to APQP, PPAP, and supplier quality processes in automotive industry.
  • ERP knowledge (SAP/Oracle or equivalent) and MS Office proficiency.
