Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring ISP/DC/DR/MPLS/P2P links hourly/daily, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Generating availability and utilization reports, providing valuable insights into our network operations.
  • Preparing and maintaining an up-to-date inventory of network devices, ensuring seamless integration and efficient management.

Firewall & Security Operations:

  • Managing firewall access, granting secure access to authorized personnel while restricting unauthorized access.
  • Implementing IP whitelisting and blocking malware IPs as per SOC standards, safeguarding our network from potential threats.
  • Reviewing and refining firewall rule bases, optimizing security protocols for maximum effectiveness.
  • Monitoring NIPS/IPS logs, deploying new signatures as needed to stay ahead of emerging threats.

Device Configuration & Backup:

  • Restoring backups of DC/DR/HO/NDR network devices, minimizing downtime and data loss.
  • Modifying VLANs on L2 switches, streamlining network configurations and improving overall efficiency.
  • Resetting network device passwords, ensuring secure access and preventing unauthorized modifications.

Access & User Management:

  • Activating/deactivating domain IDs and VPNs for users, adapting to changing roles and responsibilities.
  • Conducting admin access reviews and generating reports, promoting transparency and accountability within the team.

Load Balancer Operations:

  • Configuring backup rules and settings on load balancers, ensuring business continuity and high availability.
  • Creating new application rules, enabling seamless integration with existing systems and services.

Incident & Change Management:

  • Responding to Level 1 incidents via phone calls and emails, resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Developing and implementing RFCs, standardizing processes and procedures across the organization.
  • Collaborating with OEMs for troubleshooting, leveraging expertise and resources to resolve complex issues.

Cloud & Virtualization Awareness:

  • Exploring exposure to AWS and Azure firewalls/security features, staying up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies.
  • Understanding ACI/AVS switch installation, integrating virtualized networks with physical infrastructure.
