Patent Strategist

At Lifelancer, we are seeking a seasoned Patent Strategist to lead the management of our branded portfolio from an intellectual property (IP) perspective.

We estimate this role comes with a competitive salary in the range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will formulate effective IP strategies to strengthen and extend the lifecycle of our proprietary products globally, ensuring stronger and extended patent protection for business targets and sustainable revenue growth.

The key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing strategic IP plans to protect and enhance our branded portfolio
• Evaluating the strength of our IP portfolio and providing recommendations for improvement
• Maintaining awareness of competition and implementing effective patent filing strategies to track and mitigate risks
• Collaborating with R&D, Clinical, and Regulatory teams on filing and freedom-to-operate (FTO) strategies
• Conducting detailed IP due diligence for licensing and M&A opportunities
• Tracking litigation and preparing litigation strategies for biosimilar projects globally

Key Qualifications:

• MSc or Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or a related field
• 5-7 years of experience in patent law and prosecution, preferably with a certification in patent law
• Strong skills in patent drafting, prosecution, and analysis
