Job Overview:

The role of the Risk Manager involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating various types of risks within an investment management or financial services organization. This requires a deep understanding of risk analysis, portfolio evaluation, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Identification: Analyze potential risks, evaluate investment portfolios, and assess exposure to various risk factors.
  • Risk Mitigation: Implement risk mitigation strategies, support in implementing risk limits in systems, and collaborate with the investment team to ensure risk considerations are incorporated into portfolio decisions.
  • Change Management: Contribute to reviewing new products, processes, and activities to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Investment Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all risk management activities adhere to relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Risk Monitoring and Reporting: Prepare detailed risk reports for senior management, providing actionable insights and recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in risk management with a strong background in analyzing potential risks, evaluating investment portfolios, and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex risk information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and tools such as Bloomberg, FACTSET, Barra, etc.
  • Sound knowledge of key regulations including SEBI – Wealth Managers, RIA, Mutual Funds, etc., and an understanding of the regulatory landscape applicable to both WMC and AMC in India.
