As a skilled Furniture Designer, you will delve into the world of solid wood furniture, crafting original concepts that not only resonate with customers but also align with our manufacturing strengths.

  • Dive into customer research, utilizing historical sales data, social media insights, and global market trends to inform your design decisions
  • Create innovative designs in solid wood (Mango, Oak, Acacia, Teak) that cater to our export-oriented business
  • Develop production-ready drawings using industry-standard CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, or Rhino
  • Collaborate with merchandising and sourcing teams to translate conceptual ideas into viable product collections
  • Work closely with prototyping teams to refine joinery, finishes, ergonomics, and structural integrity
  • Incorporate KD (knock-down) joinery, export packaging standards, and compliance requirements to ensure seamless international trade
  • Design engaging line sheets, client presentations, and marketing materials for export buyers

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in furniture design, preferably focusing on solid wood
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Rhino, etc.)
  • A deep understanding of global furniture trends, ergonomics, finishing techniques, and joinery
  • The ability to distill complex research findings into commercially viable and appealing design solutions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey design concepts

Bonus skills include:

  • Familiarity with reclaimed or sustainable wood materials
  • Knowledge of packaging and shipping regulations for exports
  • Understanding of American and European design preferences
  • Prior experience in the export-oriented furniture industry
