Expert Data Architect and Engineering Leader

We are seeking a seasoned data architect and engineering leader to spearhead our organization's data engineering initiatives. As an expert in designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performing data architectures, you will be responsible for building and managing complex data systems that support AI/ML applications and real-time analytics.

  • Design and develop ETL pipelines to collect, clean, and transform regulatory and geospatial datasets into actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate zoning laws, permitting data, renewable energy regulations, GIS data, and environmental impact assessments into our data infrastructure.
  • Work closely with AI/ML engineers to ensure data structures align with machine learning models and optimize data workflows for scalability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of data architecture solutions that meet business requirements and drive organizational growth.
  • Develop and maintain metadata, lineage tracking, and documentation for all datasets to ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Mentor and lead a team of data engineers to scale operations effectively and stay up-to-date with emerging data engineering best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for data management and governance.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Engineering, GIS, or related fields.
  • 2-4 years of experience in data engineering, automation of regulatory data processing, and AI-driven decision support systems.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with PostGIS, PostgreSQL, cloud-based storage solutions, and data validation techniques.
