Job Title: Performance Engineering Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Performance Engineering Specialist to join our organization. The successful candidate will have at least 8+ years of experience in software development or performance testing and engineering with systems analysis, including using agile practices.

The ideal candidate will engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services - from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement. This includes supporting services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning, risk assessments and launch reviews.

Once services are live, the Performance Engineering Specialist will maintain them by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health. They will also run continuous improvement activities that improve service availability, recovery, efficiency & performance.

The successful candidate will work with the team to implement highly available and scalable architectures for core and third-party components of the service. They will implement metrics, monitoring, and incident response processes, and align with/improve change management and capacity planning processes.

The key responsibilities of the Performance Engineering Specialist will include:

  • Monitoring levels of manual effort and driving improvement through automation and stability
  • Proactively improving service availability, performance & efficiency via delivery of improvements in metrics, monitoring, and incident response processes, change management and capacity planning processes
  • Automating feature/story engineering quality measures
  • Being aware of production degradation of Service level objectives
  • Identifying the specific system information needed to facilitate incident response / post-mortems and deliver root cause analysis
  • Contribute as part of a Scrum team to maintain a deep understanding of system functionality and architecture, with primary focus to operational aspects of the service (availability, performance, change management, incident response, capacity planning, etc.)
  • Operational Excellence to facilitate improved NPS with customers (internal & external) and address specific operational needs & concerns

Desired skills for this role include Gatling, AWS Cloud, Harness, K6. Mandatory skills include End to End Performance testing using LoadRunner and JMeter, hands-on experience with monitoring tools like APPD, Grafana, Splunk etc., Performance Engineering Activities, Devops and CI with CD, Web logic, Oracle Databases, Cloud native services.
