As an Electrical Design Technician, you will play a crucial role in creating detailed electrical drawings and designs for MEP projects.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Design Technician with strong experience in electrical drafting and design. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in preparing technical electrical drawings and coordinating with project teams.

Main Responsibilities
  • Create electrical shop drawings and construction drawings for various applications, including cable tray layouts, lighting and power layouts, single line diagrams (SLD), load calculations, earthing and lightning protection layouts, fire alarm systems – plans, sections, and installation details.
  • Perform cable tray sizing and electrical load calculations to ensure accurate distribution of electrical loads across circuits.
  • Prepare DB (Distribution Board) loading and detail drawings, as well as develop electrical circuit diagrams according to project requirements.
  • Generate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for electrical materials and collaborate with engineers and other MEP disciplines to ensure accurate coordination.
  • Evaluate and maintain standard electrical load distribution across circuits to guarantee optimal performance.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Electrical Draughtsman in a consulting or contracting firm.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
  • Familiarity with BOQ preparation and SLD creation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Able to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
