Job Title: Senior Procurement Specialist

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to join our team as a Senior Procurement Specialist. We are looking for someone with strong industry knowledge, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage high-value contracts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing iron ore from miners, traders, and suppliers, negotiating pricing and quality terms, and coordinating logistics. They will also be expected to manage vendor relationships, ensure timely deliveries, and track market trends.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sourcing: Source iron ore (lumps, fines, pellets) from reliable vendors and negotiate competitive pricing and delivery terms.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, quality, and delivery terms with vendors to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Logistics: Coordinate logistics including rake allotment, port operations, warehousing, and shipping to ensure smooth supply chain management.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, ensuring timely deliveries and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Market Intelligence: Track global and domestic market trends to support pricing and strategy decisions.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with export/import norms and regulations.
  • Documentation: Handle documentation including LCs, Bank Guarantees, contracts, and customs paperwork.
  • Reporting: Prepare MIS reports and monitor trade P&L to provide timely updates to management.
Requirements:
  • Education: Graduate in any field.
  • Experience: 5–10 years of proven hands-on experience in iron ore trading and procurement.
  • Iron Ore Knowledge: Deep understanding of iron ore grades (Fe%), lumps, fines, and pellets.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of mining operations, beneficiation, and logistics.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of mining regulations and clearances.
