About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team at Telstra. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and delivering innovative software products and solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

As a Software Engineer, you will work closely with our product owners, designers, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications. You will also be responsible for designing and implementing responsive user interfaces using modern front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript, and front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, Node.js, and Vue.js.

You will develop server-side applications and RESTful APIs using back-end technologies such as Java and Spring Boot. You will also build reliable, predictable, and well-tested software leveraging TDD, BDD, or similar techniques for the implementation of automated testing.

In addition, you will integrate front-end and back-end components to create a seamless user experience. You will perform database design and development, including data modeling, queries, and optimization. You will also ensure the application's performance, security, and scalability meet industry best practices and project requirements.

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for testing and debugging web applications to identify and resolve issues. You will also continuously improve and refactor code for better performance and maintainability. You will collaborate with DevOps engineers for smooth deployment and release processes.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer who is passionate about delivering high-quality software solutions. You will have a strong portfolio of work and a proven track record of delivering complex software projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement responsive user interfaces using modern front-end technologies.
  • Develop server-side applications and RESTful APIs using back-end technologies.
  • Build reliable, predictable, and well-tested software leveraging TDD, BDD, or similar techniques.
  • Integrate front-end and back-end components to create a seamless user experience.
  • Perform database design and development, including data modeling, queries, and optimization.
  • Ensure the application's performance, security, and scalability meet industry best practices and project requirements.
  • Test and debug web applications to identify and resolve issues.
  • Continuously improve and refactor code for better performance and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers for smooth deployment and release processes.

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with more than 3+ years' experience and a strong portfolio.
  • Experience in Java 17+, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Solid knowledge of back-end technologies like Java, Spring Boot, and databases.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure like AWS.
  • Knowledge of accessibility tools and guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of JIRA.
  • Familiarity with implementing and actioning SonarQube issues.
  • Experience working with pipelines and deploying code to cloud-based environments.
  • Ability to coordinate deployment activities.
  • Experience with Selenium, Playwright, and Postman.
  • Knowledge and experience of REST APIs and Apigee.
