Job Title: AI Research Analyst

Sony Research India is driving cutting-edge research and development in various locations around the globe. Our focus is on creating new technology, products, and services that sustain Sony Group's diverse businesses in electronics, entertainment, and financial fields.

We seek a highly motivated research analyst to assist in our research and development efforts on large-scale user engagement predictive models. This role involves analyzing user behavior patterns on OTT platforms, predicting their likelihood of leaving, and identifying plausible reasons behind their behavior.

Key Responsibilities:

  • User Engagement Prediction Models: Develop models that analyze user behavior patterns and predict their likelihood of leaving the platform.
  • Causal Inference-Based Intervention Models: Build models aimed at retaining users on the platform by understanding causal relationships between user actions and outcomes.
  • Pre-trained LLMs Integration: Contribute to developing and evaluating models leveraging pre-trained Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Collaborative Environment: Work closely with other research scientists, engineers, and product teams to foster a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment.
  • User Experience Enhancement: Contribute to improving the experience of millions of OTT platform users by leveraging AI capabilities.
  • Research Community Contributions: Share insights and participate in external academic workshops and conferences to contribute to the research community.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing or completed masters or bachelor's degree in computer science or similar background.
  • Strong background in applied deep learning and machine learning, both in terms of conceptual understanding and practical experience.
  • Good understanding of handling large-scale datasets with SQL.
  • Familiarity with current state-of-the-art machine learning literature.
  • Prior experience in developing large-scale prediction and reasoning models.
  • Strong knowledge and interest in LLMs (fine-tuning, training, and using LLMs).
  • Proficiency in hands-on Python and one or more popular deep learning frameworks.
  • Ability to envision new ideas and prove them through theory and/or experiments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
