Job Description

A Day in the Life of a Software Engineer II.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute and document software testing using manual and/or automation methodologies.
  • Develop and implement thorough testing strategies and protocols with state-of-the-art software best practices.
  • Validate test scripts and verify software for Surgical Robotic Medical Systems.
  • Provide support for NPTV (Non-product tool validation) and navigate industry and government regulations.
  • Develop, document, and test software to meet end-user needs and achieve business goals.
  • Assist development teams and commit to project goals and timelines.
  • Collaborate across global R&D teams to test software for new and existing medical device products.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics or equivalent from a reputable institution.
  2. Minimum 6 years' experience in Embedded Software verification & Validation with at least 2 years' experience in the Medical device/Medical IT or regulated industry.
  3. Experience with C++ software and RTOS in an Embedded development environment.
  4. Proficiency in white box and black box testing, as well as hardware/software interfacing and design issues.
  5. Test automation experience, preferably using Python.
  6. System design and coordination skills, along with knowledge of field-bus technology (EtherCAT preferred) and standard embedded communication protocols.
  7. Software risk analysis experience, including ISO standards and FDA requirements.
  8. Knowledge of Medical Device standards IEC, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and applicable FDA standards.
