L&T Semiconductor Technologies is seeking a skilled High Frequency IC Layout Designer to join our team. As an RF Layout Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development of high-performance RF and high-frequency layouts using Cadence tools. Our ideal candidate has strong expertise in Cadence Virtuoso and hands-on experience with DRC, LVS, PEX verification using industry-standard tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement RF, analog, and mixed-signal IC layouts using Cadence Virtuoso.
  • Work closely with RFIC designers to optimize layouts for high-frequency performance, minimizing parasitic and ensuring signal integrity.
  • Floor planning, placement, routing, and Tapeout preparation for RF blocks (LNAs, Mixers, PAs, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Testability) guidelines.
  • Perform layout parasitic extraction (PEX) and work with design engineers to analyze and optimize layout-dependent effects.
  • Handle EM (Electromagnetic), IR drop, and RC delay considerations in RF layouts.
  • Collaborate with foundry teams to ensure compliance with process design kits (PDKs) and fabrication requirements.
  • Conduct LVS (Layout vs. Schematic), DRC (Design Rule Check), and ERC (Electrical Rule Check) verification using industry-standard tools.
  • Support Tapeout activities and post-layout validation.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in RF/Analog IC layout design.
  • Strong expertise in Cadence Virtuoso for custom IC layout.
  • Hands-on experience with DRC, LVS, PEX verification using tools like Calibre or Assura.
  • Knowledge of RF layout techniques, including isolation, shielding, dummy structures, and high-frequency routing.
  • Understanding of foundry PDKs, process nodes, and fabrication constraints.
  • Experience working with GaAs, SiGe BiCMOS, or CMOS process technologies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with EM simulation tools (e.g., Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS) is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
