Job Description

As a skilled Backend Developer, you will take full ownership of designing and managing the backend architecture for our scalable web/mobile application.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and manage the entire backend architecture for a scalable app, from planning to deployment.
  • Develop user authentication and authorization systems, utilizing industry best practices such as JWT and OTP-based login.
  • Implement logic, user discovery algorithms, and preference-based filters to enhance user experience.
  • Build a chat and messaging system using Firebase for real-time messaging and delivery/read receipts.
  • Integrate Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications on both iOS and Android platforms.
  • Optimize MongoDB schema for high-performance matchmaking and chat use cases.
  • Ensure secure, tokenized API access using HTTPS and role-based access controls.
  • Handle media uploads securely via cloud storage services like Firebase or AWS S3.
  • Implement analytics hooks for key user actions and behavior tracking.
  • Build admin APIs for user moderation, reporting, and flagging systems.
  • Monitor and maintain API performance, database health, error logs, and uptime metrics.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to set up CI/CD, monitoring, and auto-scaling backend infrastructure.
  • Manage environment configurations securely with secrets handling.
  • Build fallback systems to handle network failure, retries, and message queueing if needed.
  • Write clean, modular, and testable code with unit/integration tests for critical backend logic.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years' experience in backend development with Node.js, Firebase, and MongoDB.
  • Strong understanding of token-based authentication and security practices.
  • Experience building scalable, real-time chat or messaging systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud storage and services.
  • Solid knowledge of CI/CD, monitoring, and application scaling.
  • Clear communication skills for technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration.
