Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing warehouse and material management activities on a project jobsite. They will ensure conformance to corporate policies, including receipt, inspection, storage, inventory control, physical security, and issue of materials and equipment. The candidate will also monitor employee utilization, work hours, and staffing to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely material management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a materials management plan in accordance with project requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to the material responsibility matrix and provide work process and systems expertise to materials management planning activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to ensure accurate reporting of material status and distribution of materials according to the project advanced work packaging program.
  • Assist the project team and customer in forming major bulk materials orders and perform analysis of fabricators' capacity and ability to meet project requirements.
  • Identify material priorities based on schedule and construction requirements and monitor and interact directly with fabricators to establish fabrication priorities and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Keep warehouse and laydown personnel informed of construction erection and installation plans and identify and communicate any material constraints that may impact project plans.
  • Develop project workhour estimates for materials coordination and monitor project work and expenditure of work hours within approved budgets.
  • Indoctrinate newly assigned team members to project requirements and procedures and monitor personnel to ensure they receive appropriate training and development to satisfy job performance criteria and company personnel development objectives.

Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and 20+ years of relevant experience on EPC/EPCM projects in oil and gas/petrochemicals at construction jobsites.
  • Must have previous warehouse and material management supervisory experience and knowledge of materials management automated systems and interfaces between systems.
  • Ability to blend materials management with project work packaging strategy and good organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and broad understanding of standard field procurement procedures and materials management functions on a construction project.
