Frontend Developer Job Summary

This role involves working on the front end of software development, using a range of web technologies such as HTML5/CSS3, Native JavaScript or AngularJS or Angular or ReactJS and other web server technologies.

The primary responsibility is to develop high-quality software solutions as a contributing member of a highly motivated team of engineers. This individual will serve in the 'Software Engineering' role on an Agile team.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Developing high-quality software which meets requirements, promoting re-use of software components and facilitating ease of support.
  • Diagnosing, isolating, and implementing remedies for system failures caused by errors in software code.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements in engineering practices.
  • Utilizing software-based system maintenance and tracking tools.
  • Providing input and technical content for technical documentation, user help materials and customer training.
  • Conducting unit tests, tracking problems, and implementing changes to ensure adherence to test plan and functional/nonfunctional requirements.
  • Implementing software mechanisms to improve code stability, performance, and reusability. Participates and leads code review sessions.
  • Creating high-fidelity estimates of their own work efforts.
  • Applying good debugging and troubleshoot techniques to understand and resolve a defect found in software.
  • Creates high-quality documentation as required like functional specifications; component test specification and integration test specifications.
  • Develops and improves test-driven development while producing software.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ Year of related experience with Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Strong Web development skills using HTML5/CSS3, Native JavaScript or AngularJS or Angular or ReactJS and other web server technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development and Quality Assurance best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting techniques and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand business and technical requirements.
  • Ability to document the requirements inform of word document and/or UML diagrams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, Should be proficient in Japanese (spoken and written) – bilingual candidates preferred, Can effectively communicate with Japanese-speaking stakeholders and candidates.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Designer Specialty Retail and Food & Drug POS solutions (payments, eWIC, loyalty, promotions, etc.).
  • Experience with POS and Self-Checkout Integrations.
  • Experience with Cloud development.
  • Experience working on one of the cloud technology (AWS, Azure, Google) added advantage.
