Our Engineering & Business Service Center in Manufacturing & Global Production Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer - Tool Design to join our team.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Tool Design, you will be responsible for designing and developing tools and equipment used in our factories and wind farms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing technical requirement specifications for paint and resin-related equipment
  • Coordinating with design teams and suppliers on design requirements and participating in reviews
  • Responsible for impact analysis on factory layouts for tools and new products
  • Defining utility requirements in layouts with cross-functional teams and interfaces on resin and paint-related equipment
  • Driving process improvements with innovative solutions to deliver projects more efficiently
  • Contributing to cost reduction and quality improvement through standardization, modularization, and process efficiency improvements
  • Driving knowledge sharing, training new employees, and contributing to team competency building

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in tool design and/or product engineering manufacturing
  • Experience in mechanical design and specification compliant with relevant international standards
  • Exposure to working in an intercultural environment

Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of structural mechanics
  • Experience in 3D modeling and 2D drafting, preferably using CREO/PDMlink and project execution through ERP/ECM systems
  • Broad knowledge of engineering basics
  • Work experience in paint kitchen/adhesive-related equipment is mandatory
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturing and preferably insight into wind turbines, e.g., welding processes and material properties
  • Should have a creative approach to new challenges, a natural flair for innovation, and thrive with varied tasks and constant changes from day to day
  • Should be result-oriented with a strong focus on tasks and meet deadlines with the right quality
  • Team player: strong collaboration focus and ability to motivate colleagues within project teams
  • Good communication skills to report effectively on project status at all levels of an organization
  • Good stakeholder management skills and ability to build relationships with key members of the value stream
