Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Management: Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring their availability, performance, and security.
  • GCP Expertise: Leverage Google Cloud Platform services to deploy, manage, and optimize SQL databases in a cloud environment.
  • Performance Tuning: Conduct performance tuning and optimization of database queries, indexes, and configurations to improve system efficiency.
  • Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and ensure business continuity.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor database performance and proactively address any issues or bottlenecks. Utilize monitoring tools to analyze performance metrics and logs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to support application development and ensure seamless integration with database systems.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior DBA team members, fostering a collaborative environment and sharing best practices in database management.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 4 to 9 years of experience as an MSSQL DBA, with a strong focus on GCP environments.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server database management and administration, strong knowledge of database performance tuning, backup and recovery processes, familiarity with cloud computing concepts and experience with GCP services, excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
