We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional to support our Corporate Finance team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with experience in processing and reconciling vendor invoices, analyzing accounts payable transactions, and preparing financial reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and reconcile vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Analyze and monitor accounts payable transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, including expense summaries and aging reports.
  • Maintain and manage relationships with vendors, addressing any payment issues or discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial data by maintaining and updating the accounts payable ledger.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts payable operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • QuickBooks experience.
  • Knowledge of Canadian taxes – HST, PST, PD7A, ROE.
  • Experience with Canadian full-time employees – federal tax, provincial tax, CPP, EI.
  • Experience with vendor payments.
  • Meticulous in verifying invoices from vendors/consultants prior to processing payments.
  • Experience with MS Excel, pivot tables, and scripting (VLOOKUP).

  • Ability to adapt and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expectation to complete the month-end close within 30 days and quarter-end close within 60 days.
