Backend Developer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated software developer to work on our team. This role will focus on migrating core functionality from a legacy system to a modern architecture using cloud-native technologies.

Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop high-performance, scalable services in Java Spring Boot.

The ideal candidate is a proactive engineer who thrives on understanding complex systems, takes full ownership of their work, and is excited to leverage modern tools to accelerate development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Develop: Architect, build, and maintain high-performance services.
  • Legacy Code Migration: Analyze existing code that integrates with our platform, understand its business logic, and lead its migration to the new architecture.
  • Event-Driven Architecture: Decommission legacy message broker and implement a modern event-driven system using cloud-native technologies.
  • Cloud-Native Solutions: Build and deploy services using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies.
  • Code Quality & Deployment: Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. Own the entire development lifecycle, demonstrating confidence in taking features to production through a robust CI/CD pipeline.
  • System Analysis: Go beyond the user story to develop a deep understanding of the entire system, identifying dependencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in backend software development.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework.
  • Professional experience with C#, with a demonstrated ability to read, understand, and reverse-engineer legacy codebases.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically with services like Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Spanner, and/or Firestore.
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven design patterns.
