Network Engineering and Architecture Lead

The position of network engineering and architecture lead plays a pivotal role in driving the company's vision for innovative network solutions. As a seasoned professional with extensive expertise in low-latency network technologies, you will lead the development and implementation of high-performance trading networks.

Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and operating low-latency network solutions across data centers (both co-located and remote) with a primary focus on market data and order entry. Additionally, you will evaluate and introduce emerging network technologies such as RF networks, low-latency transport, and advanced routing/switching solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Low-Latency Network Design: Lead initiatives related to market data, trading, and co-location network design, balancing project management with operational tasks.
  • Project Leadership: Own and manage global network projects from initial requirement gathering to design, cost analysis, and implementation.
  • Innovation & Technology Research: Evaluate and introduce emerging network technologies such as RF networks, low-latency transport, and advanced routing/switching solutions.
  • Network Configuration & Support: Configure, install, maintain, and support critical software and hardware components to ensure high availability of market data networks.
  • Precision Timing Implementation: Implement and maintain protocols such as PTP (Precision Time Protocol) and PPS (Pulse Per Second) for precise network synchronization.
  • Infrastructure Management: Deploy, support, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, document IT policies and procedures, and participate in on-call rotations and after-hours support.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in low-latency network technologies, including multicast, L2/L3, WAN design, and routing.
  • Extensive experience with network data capture, timestamping, and aggregation.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in network engineering, operations, and support.
  • Proven experience with Arista, Cisco, and Layer 1 switches; familiarity with FPGA and high-performance computing is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in IP networking, TCP/IP troubleshooting, and Linux shell operations.
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting for automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
