System Architect - Windows Server Engineering

This is a key position in our organization's platform engineering team.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining internal platforms and tools that enable software development teams to work efficiently and effectively.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Designing and overseeing the implementation of Windows Server solutions, including Configuration Manager (SCCM), Group Policy, and CIS-based security hardening.
  • Defining and enforcing best practices for patch management, server software deployment, and disk space remediation.
  • Leading troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex infrastructure issues.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure capabilities with business needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with CIS benchmarks and internal security standards.
  • Monitoring system health and performance, proactively addressing risks and inefficiencies.
  • Driving automation and process improvements to reduce toil and increase reliability.
  • Contributing to infrastructure roadmap planning and capacity forecasting.
  • Partnering with leadership to evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies.

To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in Windows Server engineering, including SCCM, Active Directory, and GPO.
  • Proficient in Ansible automation, especially in writing playbooks and roles for patching, reporting, and orchestration.
  • Solid understanding of the Vulnerability Management Lifecycle and remediation planning.
  • Experience in administering Group policy and Active Directory for server management, access control, and compliance enforcement.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Powershell, YAML) for automation tasks and system integration.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and AMI Baking/image lifecycle management.
  • Strong problem-solving, change management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or related fields.
  • Advanced knowledge in AWS and Azure Infrastructure.
  • Advanced knowledge in scripting like Python.
  • Advanced knowledge in IaC tools Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Advanced knowledge in designing and implementing CI/CD pipeline with tools like Jenkins, CodePipeline, or similar.
  • Good knowledge of version control tools like GIT, Bitbucket, or Team Foundation Server.
  • Adept in System & IT operation – Windows and Linux OS administration.
  • Understanding of networking principles and technologies (DNS, Load Balancers, Reverse Proxies), Microsoft Active Directory, and Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS).
