Visual Art Director

We seek an accomplished Visual Art Director to spearhead the development of our 3D projects. This is a leadership position that demands not only artistic excellence but also strong project management skills and experience in guiding high-performing teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the overarching visual style, tone, and artistic vision for 3D projects, ensuring cohesion across all deliverables.
  • Lead, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to a team of skilled artists to foster growth, motivation, and exceptional results.
  • Collaborate closely with game designers and developers to ensure art assets align seamlessly with project objectives and technical capabilities.
  • Define, implement, and maintain the 3D art pipeline and production workflow, optimizing efficiency and quality.
  • Review and refine art assets and deliverables to uphold the highest standards of artistic quality and consistency.
  • Create initial concepts, visual guides, and storyboards to clearly communicate artistic direction and inspire creative collaboration.
  • Ensure timely delivery of art assets and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in software tools to inform strategic decisions and enhance artistic capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in fine arts, graphic design, animation, or related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in 3D art production, with at least 2-3 years in a senior artist or leadership role.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software (Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, ZBrush).
  • Experience with texturing and sculpting tools (Substance Painter, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Familiarity with real-time rendering engines (Unity, Unreal Engine).
  • Demonstrated understanding of fundamental art techniques (modelling, texturing, lighting, rendering, optimization).
