Job Opportunity: Data Intelligence Specialist

Location: Global Offshore

Job Type: Contract Position

Years of Experience: 6-9 years

 

A well-established organization is seeking a skilled Data Intelligence Specialist to support enterprise data initiatives from offshore. This role combines hands-on data engineering and ETL development with business intelligence and reporting delivery, ensuring that business stakeholders have timely and accurate insights.

The ideal candidate will be technically proficient in SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI, capable of building scalable data pipelines while also developing high-quality dashboards and reports that enable better decision-making.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Power BI & Reporting Development

  • Design, develop, and publish Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and self-service datasets.
  • Implement data models (star schema, snowflake, data marts) tailored for reporting.
  • Create reusable DAX measures, Power Query (M) transformations, and semantic layers.
  • Ensure reports and dashboards follow governance, security, and performance best practices.
  • Support business teams with ad-hoc analysis and report automation.

Data Engineering & Integration

  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to load and transform data into data warehouses and marts.
  • Work with onsite data architects and engineers to ensure data quality, consistency, and performance.
  • Build optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to support reporting and analytics needs.
  • Support integration of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data into reporting environments.

Collaboration & Offshore Delivery

  • Work closely with onsite leads, data architects, and business analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Provide status updates, documentation, and knowledge transfer to ensure alignment with enterprise BI initiatives.
  • Collaborate with offshore team members to maintain consistent coding standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and automation of reporting workflows.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Technical Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and Power BI Service.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server, T-SQL, SSRS, and SSIS (ETL development).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles (dimensional, normalized, denormalized).
  • Experience working in an offshore delivery model with global teams.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Azure Data Services (Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Synapse).

Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for BI deployments.

Familiarity with data governance and security models in Power BI.
