Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Relational Database Architect with expertise in designing and architecting critical areas of a successful commercial or open source RDBMS. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of relational database kernel development and a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Architecting and designing features for high quality
  • Participating in design and architecture reviews, test plan reviews, and code reviews
  • Proactively inspecting and assessing the quality of work being done by engineering teams
  • Prioritizing delivering working products to customers over architectural purity

You will work closely with top talent and highly motivated software engineers with varying levels of expertise in relational database development. Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience with relational database kernel development, demonstrated by working on designing and architecting critical areas of a successful commercial or open source RDBMS
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with highly-scalable and highly-available systems
  • Proficiency in C/C++ software development

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing the feasibility of technical feature proposals
  • Demonstrating deep understanding of customer use cases to guide architectural decisions
  • Engaging with directors and senior directors to help them leverage technical capabilities of their teams
