Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist

Overview:

As a skilled desktop support specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert technical assistance to employees across various departments. Your primary goal is to ensure seamless IT operations, minimizing disruptions and downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Hardware and Operating System Support:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows and macOS operating systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals, utilizing your analytical skills to resolve complex problems.

Software and Application Support:

  • Install, update, and patch software applications and security tools, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry-leading technologies.
  • Provide day-to-day support for Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint, ensuring employees can work efficiently and effectively.

System Administration and Support:

  • Support system provisioning via Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot, leveraging your understanding of IT infrastructure and network protocols.
  • Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions using Active Directory, ensuring secure access and control over company resources.

Network and Connectivity Support:

  • Troubleshoot basic network issues (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi) and VPN connectivity problems, applying your knowledge of networking fundamentals to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Perform basic configuration and support of network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of network architecture and security best practices.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with system upgrades, data migrations, and routine backups, ensuring business continuity and minimizing downtime.
  • Monitor and maintain network performance at the location, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to optimize IT operations.
  • Respond to IT support tickets, ensuring timely and effective resolution, and documenting technical issues, solutions, and IT processes accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies and industry best practices, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity in all aspects of your work.
  • Manage IT assets and maintain inventory for your designated location, ensuring accurate tracking and maintenance of company equipment.

Preferred Skills:

Strong Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving Abilities:

  • Familiarity with ITSM tools for ticket management and incident response.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
