About the Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter for Australian Mortgage Lending to join our team in Chennai. As a senior member of our lending operations, you will be responsible for evaluating creditworthiness and assessing risk associated with loan applications.
Key Accountabilities:
- Evaluate customers' financial situation, employment history, and credit history.
- Analyze credit reports and assess risk associated with loan applications.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve lending practices and reduce risk.
- Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in lending regulations and industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in any field.
- 4+ years of experience in Pre-underwriting, Loan Processing, Mortgage Underwriting or Post Close Underwriting in Australian Mortgage, USA & UK mortgage domain.
- Proven work experience as a Mortgage Underwriter or similar role.
- Strong understanding of Australia, USA, or UK lending regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
