Senior Backend Engineer – Python

As a seasoned Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in AI-powered systems, you will be instrumental in designing and developing scalable backend services for our cutting-edge applications. Your technical prowess and leadership skills will enable you to effectively mentor developers and drive project success.

This role involves architecting modular codebases, integrating AI/NLP libraries like NLTK and scikit-learn, and optimizing database systems for seamless performance. Additionally, you will contribute to containerization using Docker and maintain version control with Git.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing scalable Python-based backend services for AI-driven applications.
  • Leading and mentoring developers through all phases of development.
  • Developing APIs using FastAPI, with robust validation using Pydantic and asynchronous capabilities.
  • Implementing ORM and migrations using SQLAlchemy and Alembic.
  • Integrating task queues using Celery and background processing effectively.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Python backend development, preferably in AI product environments.
  • Proven experience in designing backend architectures from scratch for real-time or intelligent systems.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, Alembic.
  • Celery, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and database design best practices.
  • AI/ML-related Python libraries: NLTK, scikit-learn.
  • Experience with containerization using Docker and basic knowledge of CI/CD tools and Git workflows.

Preferred qualifications include experience in multi-tenant application design, exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and a strong understanding of software engineering best practices.
