Storage and Data Protection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Storage and Data Protection Specialist to oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise-grade storage infrastructure. This role involves managing storage technologies, performing daily monitoring, reporting, and management of large storage devices and tape libraries.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage Installation and Configuration: Ensure the correct implementation of storage technologies to meet business requirements.
- Monitor and Maintain: Perform regular checks on storage devices and libraries to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Troubleshoot and Resolve: Identify and resolve issues related to storage infrastructure, minimizing downtime and data loss.
- Develop Backup and Restore Plans: Create and execute strategies for backing up critical data, ensuring timely recovery in case of system failures or disasters.
- Collaborate with Vendors: Work closely with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and vendors to resolve technical issues, ensuring prompt resolution and closure.
- Maintain Multi-Platform Environment: Support the operation of diverse platforms including Windows, Linux, HP-UX, AIX, Oracle-Linux, Solaris, and others.
- Apply Automation and Optimization Techniques: Utilize scripting knowledge to automate tasks, streamline processes, and enhance overall efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 Years of Relevant Experience: In storage and backup technologies, with a strong understanding of concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
- Strong Understanding of Storage and Backup Concepts: Hands-on experience in SAN/NAS environments and enterprise storage management.
- Experience with Monitoring and Alerting Tools: Knowledge of tools used for monitoring and alerting in storage environments.
- Scripting Knowledge: Familiarity with scripting languages such as Shell, VB, etc., for system administration and automation.
- Multilingual Operating Systems: Basic understanding of multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, Unix variants, Solaris, etc.
- Communication and Coordination Skills: Good communication and coordination skills for handling multiple stakeholders and OEMs.
