Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Seeking an accomplished SDET with expertise in Java and automation framework development. The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of designing and building scalable automation frameworks, integrating them with continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines, and ensuring end-to-end automation coverage for UI, API, and backend systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, TestNG/JUnit, and REST Assured.
  • Build and implement scalable, reusable test automation libraries and utilities.
  • Automate testing for web, API, and backend services.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, DevOps, and QA teams to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, etc.).
  • Perform code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting of automation scripts.
  • Ensure test coverage, maintain test documentation, and provide automation strategy input.
  • Drive best practices in test automation across the team.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers on automation and coding practices.
Must-Have Skills
  • Strong coding experience in Java (mandatory).
  • Expertise in automation framework design and development.
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, TestNG/JUnit, Maven/Gradle.
  • API automation experience using REST Assured, Postman, Swagger.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database validation.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban).
Good to Have
  • Experience in performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
  • Knowledge of Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Hands-on with Docker/Kubernetes for test environments.
  • Exposure to BDD frameworks (Cucumber).
