Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain backend services on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway) for search, feedback, tasks, and analytics.
  • Implement search and retrieval features in OpenSearch (keyword + vector search, ranking).
  • Create pipelines to enrich content with tags, lay terms, and related data.
  • Capture user interaction signals (clicks, ratings, dwell time) and process them for re-ranking and analytics.
  • Design and document APIs for use by web, iOS, and Android clients.
  • Evaluate performance targets (e.g., retrieval time < 2.5 seconds) and ensure compliance standards are met.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience building backend services with AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, Kinesis).
  • Knowledge of OpenSearch/Elasticsearch (indexing, search queries).
  • Experience designing and scaling APIs (REST/GraphQL, OpenAPI).
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and basic data pipelines.
  • Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python or Node.js preferred).
  • Understanding of secure coding practices and exposure to compliance-sensitive environments (HIPAA/PII is a plus).
