Job Title: Pipeline Stress Engineer Specialist

 

  • Design codes and standards knowledge is essential for piping stress analysis work.
  • Identify different stress packages through P&IDs review / Line Designation tables.
  • Expertise in Caesar 2, Auto pipe, etc. stress analysis software is a must, with an understanding of its applicability and interpretation.
  • Pipeline flexibility analysis (static and dynamic) for critical systems during preliminary design and detailed design phases is required.
  • Analysis for sustained, thermal, and multiple operating cases, occasional scenarios such as wind, seismic, relief, hammer etc., needs to be performed.
  • Pipe stress analysis for equipment like Steam turbine, Compressors, Centrifugal Pumps, tanks, exchangers, heaters, columns, Air coolers etc. is necessary.
  • Provide loading information to Civil/Structure teams.
  • Solve high pipe loads on equipment nozzles.
  • Solve high secondary stresses in piping.
  • Select spring hangers, snubbers, struts for pipe supports.
  • Prepare and interpret/review complex stress calculations in high seismic zones.
  • Locate and identify pipe supports on isometrics along with support types.
  • Evaluate local stresses via code cases like N318, N392, and WRC107/297.
  • Review and sign-off piping isometrics considering flexibility and supporting.
  • Document complete stress analysis and support designs.
  • Participate in reviewing designs, drawings, and data from suppliers.
  • Work in various sectors like Oil & Gas, Power, Semiconductor Projects. Experience in Cryogenic or LNG Piping systems is beneficial.
  • Understand the role of other disciplines on projects.
  • Provide technical direction and assign work to engineers on specific assignments.

- Strong understanding of design codes and standards applicable to pipeline stress analysis.
