HPC Administrator Job Description

As an HPC Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration of high-performance computing and virtual desktop infrastructure clusters.

This role involves managing user accounts, creating and maintaining Amazon Machine Image (AMI) images, and ensuring the smooth operation of Linux operating systems on our HPC clusters.

The successful candidate will also provide support for necessary components and native services of our platform by coordinating with respective providers. Additionally, they will manage AWS Managed Active Directory and ensure compliance controls are in place.

  • Administration of HPC and VDI clusters: Ensure the optimal performance of our clusters through efficient management and maintenance.
  • User account management: Oversee user onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure seamless access to our resources.
  • AMI image creation and maintenance: Develop and maintain a robust library of AMI images to support our HPC workloads.
  • Linux operating system management: Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems on our HPC clusters.
  • Native service coordination: Work with respective providers to ensure the smooth operation of our platform's native services.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced HPC administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Redhat/CentOS Linux environments and experience with AWS Cloud formation templates.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of high-performance computing concepts and principles.
  • Extensive experience with Linux operating systems, particularly Redhat/CentOS.
  • Familiarity with AWS services, including AWS Managed Active Directory and AWS Cloud formation templates.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
