Senior Sports Content Editor

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and skilled senior sports content editor to join our team. As a senior sports content editor, you will be responsible for creating engaging and high-quality sports content that resonates with readers.

About the Role: Our ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for sports and storytelling, with experience in editing, proofreading, or similar roles. You should have a strong command of the English language and an understanding of American culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit and publish 20-25 articles daily, maintaining the highest quality of content.
  • Fact-check, research, and refine articles to ensure their accuracy and relevance.
  • Work closely with a team of writers, editors, and content managers to constantly refine and elevate content.
  • Collaborate with the CQ team to optimize article performance metrics.
  • Mentor and guide writers, helping them grow and evolve as contributors.
  • Stay up-to-date with breaking news and events, ensuring timely publication of articles.

Requirements:

  • 6-12 months of experience in sports content editing, proofreading, or similar roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Media/Journalism, or similar discipline.
  • Strong command of the English language and understanding of American culture.
  • Ability to analyze article performance metrics and use insights to elevate content quality.
  • Basic understanding of SEO principles, including crafting engaging headings and subheadings.
  • Leadership skills to inspire and guide a team of writers.
  • Passion for sports and willingness to cover breaking news, live events, and in-depth analyses.
